Vicki & Steve were married back in August at Sale Registry Office, with a reception at their pub in Flixton. Possibly nothing out of the ordinary there, but this wedding was a bit special. Vicki & Steve are both really good friends of ours – have been for years, and…well, let’s say this wedding day has been a long time in the making, and subject of a a good few jokes and wind ups amongst us all. Suffice to say, I’m not going to embarrass them with the story, but believe me, this was a special day, for two special people. And…it was one of only two weddings I went to this year as a guest! Having said that, I did take the Nikons to this one, though had a strict 6pm curfew to lock them away and have a few beers. Not wanting to upset them, I dutifully obliged…well, it’s the least I could do… 😉

This day reminded me of my own wedding to Mrs Spoony (who features in this blog, along with Teaspoon) – Steve opened the pub (in Prestwich back then) for us all on that October Day six years ago, when a certain Jeff Ascough was on lens duties…

Vicki has a legendary reputation for producing the most amazing buffets – we’ve sampled several of them over the years, including the famous Jerk Chicken, with it’s almost hallucinogenic properties –  if you’re brave (stupid?) enough to try it… 😉 Yet again, Vicki and the team produced an incredible collection for the guests.

As a surprise, there was a Rod Stewart tribute to entertain the guests. Vicki & Steve (well, mostly Steve) are massive fans and go and see him every year. This look-alike and sound-alike was brilliant, and well worth checking out.

So from all of us, your friends and family – it was an honour and a privilege to share your day, your food, hospitality….and hangover with you. Good luck with your new venture too guys…
