Chinese wedding in Cheshire

Melissa & Richard booked me for their Tabley House Chinese Wedding around eighteen months before their big day. Theirs was promising to be a brilliant, family-orientated wedding at Tabley House, with a reception at The Hall at Marthall.

On camera duties for the day was the talented Martin Hambleton, together with videography from Phil at Base Aura, the three of us were separated at first, capturing different parts of the morning – bride prep, guests arrival etc. Melissa was getting ready at the stunning Moss Wood, a beautiful boutique B&B just outside Knutsford. The place was so beautiful, I wanted to take the rest of the day off…

Tabley House Wedding Venue

I’ve photographed weddings at Tabley House before (see Rebecca & Phil’s wedding here) – the venue is just beautiful, and the interior a dream for ‘classic’ wedding photography. But this was my first time as a Tabley House Chinese Wedding Photographer. Melissa & Richard’s wedding was an early ceremony, so the guests were arriving from around 9am. As the guests were greeting each other, Melissa was getting into her dress, her father trying not to be emotional, quietly waiting for her outside the curtained-off bedroom, with the bridesmaids all jumping around excitedly…

Chinese Wedding Photography in Cheshire

With my being a Tabley House Chinese Wedding Photographer, the approach was to document the day naturally, with little to no intervention, allowing the wedding to run it’s natural path. Obviously we had a few family photos to capture, plus a few Bride and (incredibly shy) Groom photos to get on camera, which was all very quick and painless…eh Richard? 😉

Chinese wedding celebrations

After the canapes and drinks reception, we were off to the chapel to throw some confetti, then make our way to The Hall at Marthall for the wedding reception and speeches. En route, the newlyweds and myself stopped off at Moss Wood again for a few more formal photos…plus a couple of not-so informal too!

Wedding Photography in Knutsford

As I mentioned, I have photographed weddings at The hall at Marthall before. My wedding photography in Knutsford and the surrounding areas goes back a few years now – I love this part of the north west. With some brilliant speeches, a family-led Chinese Tea Ceremony, impromptu first dance (Melissa was bullied into it!)…then home n]made pizzas, the whold ady had been brilliant fun to capture. Hard work, but who cares when there’s free pizza….not me.
