Victoria & Karl were married recently at Styal Lodge in Cheshire

The wedding was a 100% a family affair, with all the children being involved in every part of the day, from preparations until way, way past the first dance, they enjoyed every minute of Mummy & Daddy’s big day. Victoria is the daughter of Graham Kinsey from I Do Taxi. I’ve bumped into Graham on lots of occasions at weddings, where his immaculately turned-out white cabs, and his quiet, natural enthusiasm have effortlessly transported excited brides, emotional mums and proud dads to weddings all over the North West. Graham told me he’d been quietly watching my blog and Facebook posts and both he and Victoria wanted my services for her big day. So I dutifully obliged!

Hair and makeup duties were performed by the lovely Jodie Smith.

Husband-to-be Karl is however, the opposite of quiet, shy Victoria. Ever the joker, Karl could make an empty church laugh with his one-liners and never-ending sense of fun. Not seemingly taking the day seriously at all, he was a star, with the banter between us escalating to a level where I had to politely bow out…I wouldn’t normally, but we were, after all at a wedding… 😉 1-0 then to Karl…

Even during the ceremony, there were moments of pure comedy, mingled with the emotional and more serious sections of the marriage vows, which was refreshing to witness. Top marks, Karl for effort…and effect!

The day was blighted however by the rain, putting paid to out trip out to the lake for some formal images…it was just too wet and miserable to venture out. Undeterrred, we quietly…did I say quietly, sorry Karl…amongst raucous laughter, ventured outside into the grounds for a few formal images. What rain?

Later on, for the first dance, the couple surprised everybody with oversized photo ‘masks’, paying homage to family members and their special VIPs – the grandparents. Nobody saw it coming, and it was just hilarious!

These are some of my favourites from the day taken on Nikon D3s, D700 and making it’s debut, the D600. Hope you like them, and as ever, any comments, please let me know!
