Stirk House Wedding Photographer
Lauren & Gary’s wedding photography from Stirk House – a stunning Lancashire venue
Stirk House Wedding Photographer
Here is my being a Stirk House Wedding Photographer as part of my folio of Lancashire weddings.
Stirk House, just north of Clitheroe on the A59 is a stunning wedding venue. Simple as. It’s old world charm meets modern in terms of style and is 100% one of my favourite wedding venues. And, I have only photographed three weddings there to date…albeit over a two week period! Talk about (wedding) buses, you wait for one, then three come along at once… 😉 Lauren & Gary’s wedding was the third of my visits as a Stirk House Wedding Photographer. Their wedding day, like the previous Stirk House weddings I was covering produced a real test of my professional mettle…England were playing in the World Cup. As a Stirk House wedding photographer, I was there to do a job, and although the weather was blisteringly hot, I was determined to do my best – without constant updates from the wedding guests. Never in my life have I seen so many men staring at ladies’ handbags during the drinks reception…. 🙂
It was great catching up with Dave again – the Stirk House Wedding Manager who runs the day with precision timing and accuracy. Those in the wedding industry all tip their hats to this legend…
As I say, the day was blisteringly hot, the ‘No football on TV’ ban was (almost) fully adhered to (the guests, not me!), and these are some of the highlights from Lauren & Gary’s big day with me as their Stirk House Wedding Photographer…
Wedding Days at Stirk House
My schedule allowed me visit Gary and grab some shots of him and best man getting ready, but it wasn’t to be. Lauren & Gary’s son Freddie stole the limelight for the few minutes we had available…and why not? Groom prep at it’s unpredictable best. Stirk House allows the Stirk House Wedding Photographer time to jump between rooms for bride and groom preparations, quite easily. By now the ceremony was fast approaching so I left the boys to it…
Summer Wedding Ceremony
Best Man was the ever-chirpy Craig, one of my previous clients, seen HERE marrying the love of his life Keely at Beeston Manor. The ceremony was soon to begin, and the guests were arriving on time. The registrars were brilliant to work with too…I’ve worked with them before so they just let me do my thing as the Stirk House Wedding Photographer for the day.
Speeches at a wedding
The speeches were hilarious, and curiously Lauren seemed to get the brunt of the one liners and stories from times past…hmmm… but Craig did a brilliant job. Power Point-aided, he slowly ‘destroyed’ Gary with embarrassing tales, then built him back up, as only a true friend and great best man can. Nice one guys!
Bride & Groom Photos at Stirk House
After the speeches, we had a few minutes to grab some fresh air, and take a few images outside Stirk House, and in the grounds. The light was gorgeous…still bloomin’ hot mind, but we did well. I love sun flare, and controlling it bouncing around inside my Nikons, and we got the results I was looking for – even though half the time I was shooting ‘blind’ with my eyes scrunched up staring at the sun!
