I was commissioned by Catherine and Gareth to produce their Radisson Wedding photography about a year ago. How time flies! Theirs was a traditional wedding, with a definite rock n roll theme. Hailing from a large Irish family, Cat informed me this was to be my largest attended wedding ever. And it was! With eight bridesmaids plus a full ceremony and mass at St Patrick’s in Collyhurst, I was busy, though we managed to ‘escape’ afterwards to Castlefield for twenty minutes, shooting a few on-the-fly formals, before heading off to Mojobar – their ‘local pub’. The manager of Mojos kindly opened the bar for us, so we could nip in for a few shots….stills for me, something a little stronger for the happy couple!
Cat and Gareth’s wedding gave me two of my favourite wedding images from 2013; one being an all-time favourite…but you’ll see that at the end of the blog. Being so heavily influenced by music and especially Manchesert Indie bands, I shot this image as their ‘album’ cover…record, not wedding. It breaks virtually every rule in the book…perfect! My homage to the great Kevin Cummins (a City fan too like Gareth and myself).
And…THE shot of all first dance shots, I’ve ever taken. So glad to have this in my folio….
