Highlights from Mel & Mark’s
Mitton Hall Wedding
Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer
Mel & Mark booked me to be their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer for their big day at the stunning, and very popular Mitton Hall. And, as the venue describes itself, I agree…
“Mitton Hall is a stunning country house hotel in the heart of the Ribble Valley. With gorgeous surroundings, incredible architecture and elegant interiors, Mitton Hall is the perfect venue for your special day. And with our wedding coordinators on hand to help with every detail, we’ll make sure your day is as perfect as you imagined…”
Yes, being a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer is a great experience. The staff are lovely, and very helpful when it comes to the day’s scheduling. Mel & Mark opted to get married in Mark’s local church, then head ‘over the hill’ to Mitton Hall for their brilliant wedding reception. Here’s some highlights from their day with my being their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer…
Wedding Day Smiles
It was all wedding day smiles when I arrived at Mel’s parents’ home to photograph the bridal preparations. Their home was stunning and totally transformed by a family architect into the most open plan house I’ve ever worked in. The girls were all gathered together as the flowers arrived from the local florist. I disappeared quickly upstairs to photograph some wedding detail photos, such as Mel’s dress, shoes and all the stunning flowers.
Father of the Bride first look
Mel’s dad was blown away when he saw his daughter, with his first look. ‘All Grown Up and Ready To Go’ she was. The emotions ran high for a while as I quietly took a few photos. Dad left us to a few portraits before the girls crashed in screaming with excitement and wiping their emotional eyes. I quick one-liner to Mel (hence the pointing her finger at me photo) later, I was gone and off to church to meet Mark and the guests arriving.
St Mark’s Church in Worsley
I have worked at this church several times in my career, and though I was a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer for the day, at this point I was a Worsley Wedding Photographer. It was funny really. The vicar of St Mark’s was called Mark. The Groom was called Mark. The Best Man was called Mark. I almost changed my name for the day to avoid confusion ;-) St Mark’s Church in Worsley is a beautiful building, which you can see clearly it’s spire from the M60 as you pass the Worsley exit.
Get Me To The Church On Time
Mel’s mum and the bridesmaids all arrived together, bang on time for a 12 noon wedding. I had time for a few photos then Mel appeared with dad, all looking a little more composed since I saw them last. Dad duly helped Mel from the stunning black Mercedes, and took her arm. As they walked up the steps and made their way to the front door, the excitement was building. The music started, and we were off.
Emotional moments at a wedding
After the ceremony, Mel & Mark went straight round to the back of the church to a small memorial garden. We were well away from the guests, while Mark laid some flowers for his mum. He also laid a name place for the wedding breakfast. It was a tough moment to capture as my own mum was fairly poorly at the time with cancer. But as a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer, I have to park that emotion and concentrate on Mel & Mark’s moment.
Mitton Hall Wedding Photos
It was time enough for the hugs from friends and family. There were a few false starts at family group photos because the wind was playing havoc with Mel’s veil. We managed it in the end though. After a confetti throw, the newlyweds were on their way to Mitton Hall for me to continue to be their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer. Mitton Hall is one of the most popular wedding venues in the Ribble Valley, and a firm favourite with all the wedding suppliers. Since we arrived ahead of the guests, we had a few minutes for some Mitton Hall wedding photos of just the two of them.
Happy Wedding Guests
From our short session, we went back into the conservatory at Mitton Hall to catch up with the happy wedding guests, fully enjoying the wedding day. Lots of happy faces, lots of smiles and laughter. This is what weddings should be about. As I mingled with the crowd, I caught some great faces enjoying the moment. With a few minutes to go before the guests were seated, I photographed the stunning room design, awaiting the crowd to descend.
Mitton Hall Wedding Reception
The speeches at Mel & Mark’s Mitton Hall Wedding were great fun. With two Best Men to destroy and rebuild Mark’s reputation, it was a brilliant two-pronged attack. Everyone was in stitches. This Mitton Hall wedding reception seemed to last for ages, but for all the right reasons. After the speeches were complete I grabbed Mel & Mark for the obligatory gallery & chandelier photo. Well, it has to be done when you’re a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer. With a short break afterwards, we were straight into the cake cut and first dance. We were also in great hands too with Ryan from DFC in charge, spinning some great tunes and being the MC for the evening.
